The ''Asbury Park Press'' is a daily newspaper in Monmouth and Ocean counties of New Jersey and has the third largest circulation in the state.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=About Gannett: Asbury Park Press )〕 Its investigative staff, led by editor Paul D'Ambrosio, has been awarded numerous national honors in journalism, including the Selden Ring Award for Investigative Reporting, two the Associated Press Managing Editors' Award for Public Service, the National Headliner Award for Public Service and two National Headliner Awards for Best Series (large papers). The ''Press'' investigative team was a finalist for the 2010 Pulitzer Prize in Public Service. The newspaper was also the home to editorial cartoonist Steve Breen when he won the Pulitzer Prize in that category in 1998. Gannett purchased the paper in 1997. ==Awards==
In 2004 the story "Profiting from Public Service" by Paul D'Ambrosio, Jason Method, James W. Prado Roberts, Alan Guenther, Jean Mikle and staff won the Farfel Prize for excellence in investigative reporting which was the inauguration of this award. It also won The National Headliner Award for public service, the SPJ/SDX National Award for public service in the large papers category, and the APME Public Service Award for large papers.〔(The Selden Ring Award for Investigative Reporting )〕
